Der Palast von Cherniatskiy

 

 

The Cherniatskiy palace in the manor of I. Vitoslavskiy was constructed in the 20’s of the XIXth century. Ignatiy Vitoslavskiy, which was the crown The Palace of the I. Vitoslavskiy in Cherniatinobozniy, settled in Cherniatin at the beginning of the century. He ordered to reconstruct the manor, by focusing a building by a facade to the south. The building of the palace passed in some stages.

First the southern wing with a decorative romantic tower, which was decorated by the crown with the cogs in the style of Renaissance was construct. In old knightly tradition the flag with the arms of the owner was reised up above its top. The other corps is “connect” to this part with the help arch gallery. It is decorate in the style of Neogothic. The author of the neogothic facades of the Cherniatinskiy palace could be the Polish architect Genrih Ittar, Maltese on the origin, who studied in Rome. A building, despite of certain architectural eclecticism, surprised the contemporaries by the harmony and sophistication of lines. The certificate of that is a photo of the palace with the enthusiastic comments placed in the Atlas of Podolian province, issued in 1842 . Southern and westernfacades had a high attic and rectangular windows, which are decorated by the little frontons above the second floor.

The gothic arrow-like of all verticals had the aim to create an illusion of greater height. On the central entrance between the pair of marble lions there is a granite stairs. Earlier every lion leaned by the right pad on heraldry board with the arms of the owner.
The palace of Vitoslavskis is located in a wonderful park created by Dionisiy Makler. Unfortunately, not much remained from park. The wonderful pavilions and halls were destroyed, now there is no large library of the palace and only the collectors of ex-libris store the rare books from this library.
